There are many things Rotaract has to offer. Some of the main things you can expect to gain from becoming a Rotaractor include:

  • Having loads of fun while making new friendships that last a lifetime.
  • Networking with other young professionals in the community.
  • The satisfaction of knowing that you can make a difference, in the local community and overseas.
  • The opportunity to refine your leadership and public speaking skills by becoming an Executive of the club or organizing a project .
  • Pushing yourself to the limit and realizing your potential in both personal and professional areas of life.
  • Getting a head start to future membership in Rotary.
  • Networking with over 2 million members of the Rotary family around the world.

Rotaract Burlington is looking for new members all the time! If you are interested in joining, just come on out to our next meeting, and e-mail us ( to let us know you're coming!

Apart from a lot of smiling faces excited that you're there, here is what you need to know for your first meeting.

  • We prepare an agenda before each meeting that is printed and distributed to everyone
  • Our meetings are chaired by the President or Vice-President, and we go through the agenda fairly informally - If you have something to add at any point during the meeting, just speak up! We are currently a smaller club, so any input is highly valued!
  • When a new member is present, we will usually go around the room and introduce everyone so you have an idea who's who. At this time, we have an executive comprised of a president, treasurer, secretary and webmaster, as well as three committee chairs (social, philanthropy, and professional development). We usually have a few members from local Rotary clubs, and then everyone else is a member-at-large (many of who have attended RYLA, Interact, Rotary Exchange or Rotary Camp Enterprise).
  • Our meetings usually include planning for future events, speak outs to develop public speaking skills, guest speakers, professional development tips and activities, recruitment brainstorming, and whatever else members would like to discuss!
  • Happy Quarters - at each meeting we go around the table to collect a quarter from anyone who would like to share a happy thought or piece of news. Usually everyone has something to say!
  • Meetings usually last about 90 minutes, and sometimes we go out for drinks or ice cream at nearby spots Downtown.

We look forward to meeting you!
